Police officers are hunting a man who crashed a car into a lamp post before running off in Potters Bar.

The collision involving a grey Volkswagen Golf happened yesterday (Sunday) in Mutton Lane at 7.39pm, and also resulted in a red Ford Fiesta and black Peugeot 206 being damaged.

A police spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports that a vehicle had been in collision with a lamp post.

“One person has made off from the vehicle, heading towards Darkes Lane. We had to recover the vehicle and it looks like it has damaged two other parked cars.”

She said enquiries to identify the man were ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact police via 101, quoting ISR 741 of October 29.
