Man charged over begging in Hatfield

A man has been charged in connection with begging in Hatfield after being banned from the borough.

A police spokesman said: “Between 1pm and 1.30pm on Saturday, April 14, while on patrol a PC spotted a repeat offender who was banned from entering Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield.

“He was seen begging at the Galleria, in Hatfield, and failed to leave the town when required to do so by a Community Protection Notice.”

•Timothy Hart, 37, of no fixed address, is charged with failing to comply with a Community Protection notice.

He was due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court today.
