Police have made an arrest following reports that a man was attempting to meet a 15-year-old girl in Hatfield.

A police spokesman said: “A 59-year-old man from Cheshunt has been arrested on suspicion of arranging or facilitating commission of a child sex offence.

“Officers had been called to outside the Galleria at 2.19pm on Sunday, June 17, to reports that a man was attempting to meet a person he believed to be a teenage girl.

“It was reported that he believed the girl to be age 15.

“He is currently in custody.”
