The 20-year-old Welwyn Wheelers star won track cycling gold yesterday (Saturday) with Team GB colleagues Dani King and Joanna Rowsell in the women’s team pursuit.

And the world record-breakers’ achievement in the Olympic Park Velodrome has now been immortalised in a first class stamp.

The Team GB Gold Medal stamps are available to buy individually at the standard 60p first class price, or in sets of six for £3.60.

Royal Mail has revealed the post offices in Hollybush Lane, in Welwyn Garden City, and Darkes Lane, in Potters Bar, are among the selected branches offering the stamps.

The branches are open on Sundays throughout the Olympics, enabling customers to buy the stamps as soon as possible throughout the entire week.

Laura Trott, who will also have a postbox painted gold in her honour, goes for her second Olympic title next week in the six-discipline omnium – cycling’s equivalent of athletics’ heptathlon. She competes in that two-day event on Monday and Tuesday.
