Solicitors acting on behalf of Asperger’s sufferer Gary McKinnon have asked for a judicial review of Alan Johnson’s decision not to prevent the extradition on medical grounds.

Mr Johnson has 14 days to respond before the case goes before a judge.

Gary’s mum, Janis Sharp, who lives in Brookmans Park has fought a seven year battle to keep her son in the UK.

Prosecutors in America allege Gary, 43, caused nearly £500,000 worth of damage to military computers in 2001 and 2002.

Gary, who lives in North London, admits hacking but maintains he was looking for evidence of alien life.
