Sophie Washington stepped up to the Royal Albert Hall stage on Thursday night to sing Love You More as she fulfilled her dream of performing with her favourite boyband.

The Rooks Hill resident was granted her ‘wish’ thanks to the charity she is an ambassador for – Rays of Sunshine, which provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for seriously ill children.

Sophie, 16, is living with complex type infants of diabetic mothers which requires her to undergo emergency admissions to hospital approximately once every 4 weeks and means she has to rely on permanent night nurses to monitor her.

She is currently on the active pancreas transplant waiting list and will be the youngest person in the UK to have the potentially life-changing treatment.

She told the Welwyn Hatfield Times performing with JLS, who are also ambassadors for the charity, was “incredible”.
