Celebrations honouring international migrants held in Welwyn Garden City have been hailed a “great success” by organisers.

International Migrants Day was held on December 11, and was attended by more than 40 people.

Vistors heard from experts about the positive impact of migration on the county and the country.

Michal Siewniak, community development officer of Broxbourne CVS and founder of the Hatfield Polish Forum helped organise the event, calling it a “great success”.

He said: “The even demonstrated that migrants are a key and fundamental part of the UK economy and their contribution locally, regionally and nationally is significant and it can’t be underestimated

“The conference proved again that migration is an important part of our daily life.”
