THE inquest of a Welwyn Garden City man who was killed in an alleged hit-and-run is being held today (Wednesday).

David Alderson died after a collision on the B1000, Welwyn Road, last year.

The Broadwater Crescent resident, was found by a cyclist at 6.50am on Wednesday, July 27, close to Sele Farm; directly opposite to the bridleway which goes to Selebroom Wood.

Police, who are still investigating, believe David was struck by a medium-sized van which did not stop between 5.30pm on the Tuesday to the early hours of the Wednesday.

The inquest for the 66-year-old is being held at The Old Courthouse, on St Albans Road East, in Hatfield at 10am.
