Hundreds of pounds have been raised to help make sure a town looks suitably festive at Christmas this year.

A group of residents raised £730 with a raffle at the Potters Bar Carnival on June 10 to fund a Christmas lights display in the town this year.

The group was formed after the town was left without a proper display last year.

Chairman of the group Lynette Sullivan said: “There was a great buzz on the stall and a lot of community engagement letting people know that we are doing everything we can to ensure we have lights.

“The weather was extremely kind to us and we are thankful to everyone that came and donated.”

The group is now looking for people to help them fundraise. Anyone who is interested in helping out can email Lynette via Lynette.jane.sullivan@gmail.com
