An ambulance service spokesman said: “An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to the junction of Baines Lane and Bragbury Lane, Datchworth on Sunday shortly after 4.15pm, following reports of a road traffic collision involving a horse and rider.

“A woman was transported to Lister Hospital in Stevenage by road ambulance.”
