POLICE have denied issuing a warning to former Hear’Say singer Myleene Klass for using a knife to scare intruders at her Northaw home.

The Marks and Spencer model was “utterly terrified” when she spotted two teenagers peering into her kitchen window just before 1am on Friday.

After grabbing a kitchen knife the 31-year-old – whose daughter Ava, two, was upstairs and fiancé Graham Quinn away on business – banged on the window to scare the men, wearing hoodies and dark clothing, away.

Her agent Jonathan Shalit told the Sunday Telegraph police had ticked off the TV star, telling her she should not have used an “offensive weapon” to get rid off the men.

He said: “Myleene was aghast when she was told the law did not allow her to defend herself in her own home.

“All she did was scream loudly and wave the knife to try and frighten them off.”

However, a police spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times they had NOT issued any kind of warning to Myleene about using a knife during the incident.

She said: “For clarification, at no point were any official warnings or words of advice given to the home owner in relation to the use of a knife or offensive weapon in their home.”

Yesterday (Monday), when the Welwyn Hatfield Times contacted Myleene’s management team, Shalit Global, a spokeswoman said a warning had been issued.

She said: “We are not making any comment on this as the police are now backtracking on what was said so we are leaving it there.”
