A Hertfordshire man arrested on suspicion of terrorism has been bailed.

The 44-year-old man was arrested by counter terrorism officers on Thursday at Gatwick Airport – but has since been released on bail until next month.

The man, who flew in on a flight from Iraq, was stopped under schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act before the police arrested him under section 5 of the Terrorism Act – which refers to a suspicion of preparing terrorist acts.

A spokesman from the Metropolitan Police was unable to confirm where in Herts the man was from.
