A GIRL thought to be as young as SEVEN was involved in the theft of a mobile phone from a Hatfield beauty salon.
The young child had been taken into the Glow salon, in the Roe Green Centre, Bishops Rise, by a man and a woman.
The group asked about a nail appointment and, while staff were distracted, one of them took the BlackBerry phone, which had been left on a desk.
They then left the salon and walked off in the direction of the Hilltop shopping parade.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and information about the theft, which happened between 11.15am and 11.30am on Wednesday.
The man is described as being in his mid to late 20s, tall, of a slim build and with short, spiky black hair.
He was wearing a knee length coat and black jeans.
The woman was approximately 35, of a medium build with black hair worn in a ponytail.
She had a number of gold teeth on the top row of her teeth, was wearing a flowing floral skirt with a black belt around the waist and a grey cardigan.
The girl was described as around seven years old.
