THE controversial incinerator earmarked for Hatfield could deal with nearly A THIRD more waste than originally stated, the Welwyn Hatfield Times can exclusively reveal.

At a meeting of the county council’s waste management cabinet panel yesterday (Tuesday), councillors agreed the waste burner should be capable of dealing with up to 345,000 tonnes of waste a year.
The £220m facility – pencilled in for the council’s New Barnfield site in Travellers Lane – has previously been quoted as having a capacity of 270,000 tonnes.
News of the developments has been roundly condemned.
Mike Hobday, the Labour parliamentary candidate for Welwyn Hatfield, called it an “absolute betrayal” of residents.

It's shocking how little regard Herts County Council Tories have for local residents. Truly, they're treating us as the dustbin of the county! I urge everyone to respond before Friday to the County Council consultation, by emailing cdu@hertscc.gov.uk
