Hatfield Tesco Extra: Attempted distraction theft in car park

Police are warning shoppers to have their wits about them following an attempted distraction theft in which a man tried to get into a woman’s car in Hatfield.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police are aware of an incident that happened in the Tesco car park in Hatfield on Thursday, November 2.

“At approximately 11am a lady was putting shopping in her vehicle when a man approached and started talking to her.

“The lady then noticed another man trying to get into her vehicle before both men ran off on foot.”

•Anyone with any information is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 596 of 2/11.
