Police and the force helicopter were out in Hatfield yesterday evening in a bid to trace a missing man.

A Herts Police spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Police were called at 7.38pm about the concern for the welfare of a man who had gone missing from the south Hatfield area.

“Following a lengthy search of the area, utilising the police helicopter, the man was located at 11.06pm.”

Residents in Hatfield took to social media saying how they had seen and heard the helicopter flying over their houses.

Eyewitnesses also saw a number of officers in a field off Stanley Drive.
