Hatfield drink driver banned for two years

A Hatfield woman has been given a two-year driving ban after drink driving in the town.

Sharon Barton, 56, of Shallcross Crescent, initially denied but later admitted drink driving.

She had 95 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Barton drove a white Fiat 500 in Parkhouse Court while over the legal limit on July 10 last year.

She appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on January 12.

Barton was fined £400.

She was ordered to pay victim services £40 and court costs of £310.

She has been banned from driving for two years.

If she takes part in a course approved of by the Secretary of State, her disqualification will be reduced by 12 weeks,
