A Hatfield man has taken on the role of Santa Claus and is collecting donations to buy toys to give to less fortunate children this Christmas.

For many years now Timothy Muggleton, 55, who lives in the Stockbreach area, collects donations and uses the money to buy toys.

Last year, kind-hearted Timothy raised £700 and bought a number of brand news toys to give to youngsters.

After Timothy has collected the donations he does a big shop, wraps up the gifts and donates them to the Women’s Refuge.

Timothy said: “Christmas is about giving, not for drinking too much and stuffing your face.

“I want to help children who otherwise won’t get anything for Christmas and I want them to know that there is someone out there who cares about them.”

Timothy is accepting donations of money to buy presents or you can donate a present of your choice.

Call Timothy on 01707 259116 if you’re interested.
