The police helicopter was out over Welwyn Garden City in the early hours of this morning after a man was seen acting suspiciously in someone’s garden.

A Herts Police spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “We were called to reports of a man in a garden of a property in Handside Lane at 3.59am this morning (5 September).

“Officers were sent to the scene and conducted a search of the area alongside the dog unit and the helicopter.

“The man was not located.”

The spokeswoman clarified that the incident was being treated “as a suspicious incident, as opposed to attempted burglary, as there were no signs of an attempt to break-in”.
