Police are urging residents to be vigilant following a series of thefts from vehicles in Welwyn Hatfield.

Officers are investigating three such incidents that happened in Welham Green between Friday, October 6, and Wednesday, October 11.

Power tools were stolen from a Ford van in Grenville Close between 7pm on Sunday and 7am on Monday.

An iPhone was taken from a hatchback in Walsingham Close between noon on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.

Sometime between 9am on Friday and 9am on Wednesday, a catalytic converter was stolen from a Mercedes Sprinter van in Travellers Lane.

PCSO Samantha Griffin issued the following message to residents: “Please make sure you don not leave anything on display and take any valuables out of your cars.

“Make sure your vehicle is locked when you leave it, with windows up and secure.

“Don’t ignore car alarms.

“If you hear it, take a peek.

“It may stop another thief taking what is not theirs.”
