A spooky photo caught on a phone has plunged a Welwyn Garden City woman into a supernatural mystery.

Vicky Mills, 62, of Verulam Close, was lying on her sofa when her grandson took a picture of her on his phone last Friday.

It was only when then looked at it that they noticed the figure.

Standing in the doorway to the front room is the figure of what appears to be a woman.

Vicky said: “It’s so clear, down to the hand on the arm of the sofa.

“I know you can get apps to create these effects but the phone had nothing like that on it.”

The picture on it’s own would be enough to peak a person’s interest.

However there is more to the tale.

Vicky’s grandson, Lewis McGlynn, died in 2011, aged eight and the night prior to the picture being taken, Vicky had what she describes as a dream.

She said: “I felt someone standing over me when I heard someone say ‘Hello Nan’. I thought I’d imagined it.

“But as I opened my eyes I saw something. When I opened them fully, it was gone.

“The figure [in the photo] is identical to what I saw.

“I don’t believe in ghosts but I’ve been to his grave to tell him to stop bothering me.”

Vicky is now looking to find someone who can confirm the picture has not been tampered with and to provide a scientific explanation.

  • Ok.. i understand that people have opinions and everys are different but i personal think this is real and appears to be somone young.. to get a picture like this is Amazing I havent seen anything like this anywhere.. There must be somone with positivity to help explain this :) but as for the nasty comments there is NO reason for them i can see a lot of dam right discusting things on this page were people can take their hatred...WHT doesnt always explain everything so i hope some people learn to stop jumping to conclusions after all i also believe in karma and i believe in spirits im very sure i have felt it...

  • Even without the apparition, it's a great photo. If it were me, I'd see if I could crop the photo to just get Vicky basking on the sofa as the photographer intended before the wretched ghoul drifted into frame. Then I would get it professionally printed, framed, and hung on the vast expanse of blank white wall above the sofa. Wonderful stuff.

  • Well clearly the 'ghost' is very similar to the style of spirit you get in Japanese horror films such as The Ring, etc. However, what I find more sad is that if this woman does believe in ghosts, does she really think it's nice to go to her grandsons grave and tell him to 'stop bothering her'!!! If there ever was such a thing as ghosts then I'm sure her 8 year old grandson's ghost would be deeply upset at being told that. Also I don't see how she can link a little boy with a woman's ghost!! Desperate for attention. Silly woman.
