A DRAMATIC increase in GCSE grades has been achieved at Mount Grace in Potters Bar.

According to headteacher Peter Baker the scores have risen “dramatically” compared to all previous records.

He told the Potters Bar Edition: “The school’s academic records continue to fall and targets are comprehensively beaten with another rise in the headline GCSE figures for this year.

“Over 52 per cent (50 per cent in 2010) of students got five or more A* to C including English and maths, while a whopping 81 per cent (77 per cent in 2010) got at least five good grades.

“The points scores have also risen dramatically compared to previous records.”

Mr Baker, at the Church Road school, added: “This year group have done all that was expected and more besides.

“Every year we are certain we will not be able to beat the previous year’s records, the students up their game and this is the result - another great year-on-year improvement.

“We are now expecting record numbers to stay on to study at A-level. I don’t know where we are going to put them all.

“I’m absolutely delighted for them all.”
