MOTORISTS will be offered advice on vehicle security, and can have tamper-proof screws fitted to their number plates for free, in Potters Bar tomorrow (Saturday).

Police officers from the Potters Bar Safer Neighbourhood Team will be in the car park at Tesco in Mutton Lane, between 10am and 2pm.

Hertsmere Borough Council’s community safety team will also be at the event offering people the opportunity to register their property on the free online database Immobilise.

Pc Dean Edwards said: “Theft of your car number plates can be very inconvenient to you the victim, so we’re urging people to come along and spend a few minutes getting their plates secured to their vehicle.”
