Five men, aged 19 to 40, have been released under investigation following reports of attempted van break-ins.

Five men are being investigated following their arrests on the M25.

Police made the arrests after receiving reports of men trying to break into vans in Welham Green.

Police dog Oz was used in the operation to track down suspects.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called at 23.31pm on Monday, October 16, to reports of five men suspected to be trying to break into vans on Huggins Lane, Welham Green.”

Men travelling in a grey BMW were later arrested by police on the M25 near South Mimms on suspicion of going equipped to steal.

Those arrested were:

•A 26-year-old man from Kent

•A 40-year-old man from London

•A 20-year-old man from London

•A 19-year-old man from London

•A 27-year-old man from London
