A MAN handcuffed to a bed had to be rescued by firefighters, in the second incident of bondage gone wrong in four days.

The latest kinky mishap took place in New Wood, Welwyn Garden City, where the man became cuffed to a bed unable to escape yesterday morning (Sunday).

Firefighters were called at 10.45am and spent 20 minutes extricating the manacled man from his embarrassing predicament.

A Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue spokesman said he could not “speculate” on the circumstances, but confirmed the cuffing was not the result of police action and that the man was shackled to a bed.

He added: “The gentlemen was released from the handcuffs by the service and was rescued without injury.”

The incident came just three days after firefighters were scrambled to Goldings Crescent, Hatfield, to release an amorous pair who had managed to handcuff themselves together and mislay the key in the throes of passion.

On that occasion Crew commander Phil Reynolds told the Welwyn Hatfield Times it was an “adult” situation and “there were no Halloween costumes”.
