Fast-acting firefighters stopped an oven fire from spreading at a property in Welwyn Garden City this afternoon.

One crew from Welwyn Garden City and another from Hertford attended the scene in Great Conduit, Panshanger, following a call shortly before 4pm.

Herts Fire Control subsequently tweeted: “Excellent work by #WelwynGardenCity and #Hertford in extinguishing the fire on Great Conduit, Welwyn Garden City.

“Quick action by Control Operators and fire crews stopped this fire from spreading further. #AllCallsStartWithControl”
