A Welwyn Garden City mum must pay hundreds of pounds after her child missed school.

The mum did not attend Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on October 5 when the case was proved in her absence.

The court heard how the teenager had not regularly attended school between November last year and February this year.

The mum was fined £300.

She must also pay victim services £30 and costs of £125.

In total, she must pay £455.
