‘Excellent’ Welwyn orchestra set to host free concert

A Welwyn orchestra is inviting residents to attend its free concert in the village early next month.

Camerata Chamber Orchestra will put on the event on Saturday, December 2, at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church, and has invited residents to come and soak up the “excellent programme”.

A spokesman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “The concert will have not only an excellent programme, but also two professional soloists from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales: Anya Leadbeater and John Cooper.”

The orchestra was founded 40 years ago by Bob Gould of Welwyn, and is now directed by Philippa Burch.

It performs three free-entry concerts a year in churches in Welwyn and St Albans. For notices, email r.bowman482@btinternet.com
