More than 40 per cent of voters in Welwyn Hatfield turned out to vote in the borough council elections yesterday (Thursday).

Figures just revealed at the count in WGC show 42.53 per cent marked their ballot papers.

The lowest turnout was in Hatfield Villages with just 30.38 per cent, compared to the highest in Handside of 58.66 per cent.
