Youngsters from Knightsfield School were treated to a one-day programme of fun activities designed to give them some experience of what happens at a job interview, along with other challenges during the recruitment process.

They were also given time to explore the qualities and skills that employers of today are looking for, as well as how these areas can be developed.

It was put on by ELSA (Education, Learning, Skills and Achievement CIC), and part-funded by Herts county councillor Richard Smith.

Headteacher Mrs Suzanne Thrower said she was “very proud” that everyone engaged with the activities and presented Knightsfield and themselves in such a positive way to the visitors.

Chair of trustees, Mrs Lesley Carter, who said she thoroughly enjoyed the day added: “What an inspirational day with a real buzz everywhere.

“The students engaged the whole day and the feedback from the companies was how well they performed in the real career exercises they undertook – a fantastic preparation for their life beyond Knightsfield.”
