Is your school in Welwyn Hatfield and Potters Bar open or closed? Check back here for updates throughout the day (Thursday, March 1).

•Dame Alice Owen’s School is open

•The Holy Family Catholic Primary School is open

•Our Lady Catholic Primary School is open

•St Michael’s Woolmer Green Primary School will be open from 9am this morning (no breakfast club) to allow staff to drive in safely. We will keep the registers open until 10am to allow you all to get in safely. Character Day will go ahead, but please send in warm layers and suitable footwear.

•Southfield School will close early – Due to the deteriorating conditions on local roads Southfield School will close at 1.00pm today. Pupil transport will arrive at 1.00pm. Parents who collect their children should arrive for 1.00pm. Thank you for your support.

•Oakmere Primary School is open

•Knebworth Primary and Nursery School is open – We are open today. Registers will stay open until 10am and school will close at 2.30pm to allow all to travel to and from school safely & carefully. Year 4 will not be swimming today. Take care.

•Lakeside School is closed

•Watton at Stone Primary & Nursery School is open

•Little Heath Primary School is open

•Homerswood Primary School is open

•St John’s CoE Primary School (Digswell) will close early – If you wish to collect your children from 1:30pm then you may do so, however, with a fun afternoon of learning focussed on World Book Day, please only do so if you feel it is absolutely necessary. Apologies in advance, as we will not be able to run After-School Club today due to staffing. Therefore, ALL children should be collected by 3:15pm.

•Oak View Primary and Nursery School is open

•Sir Frederic Osborn School is open – At present the school will remain open. However, we closely monitor the weather and will contact you using the communication systems (School Comms, website and School Closure Notification System) should we feel we need to close. Thank you.

•Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School is open – Please ensure pupils wear sensible footwear for travelling. Please refer to letter home for procedure in case of more snow.

•Queenswood School is open – We would like to apologise for the problems in updating the website this morning, due to server issues beyond our control. Queenswood is open as usual today. School transport is running but the service may be limited and drivers will be in contact if there is disruption. We would like to remind parents not to take any risks, and make to their own judgment about travelling.

•Welwyn St Mary’s Primary School is open

•Springmead Primary School is open

•Holwell Primary School is open

•Hatfield Community Free School will be closing at 3pm – there will be no Sherpa Kids or after school clubs running today. We will assess the situation tonight and will confirm our decision for tomorrow sometime this evening. All Year 5 parent consultations booked for later than 3pm will be re-arranged.
