Howe Dell School, in The Runway, raised more than £500 at the 2012 Howe Dell’s Got Talent show, which was held in support of children’s charity Cleft Lip And Palate Association (CLAPA).

The show featured singers, dancers, musicians, gymnasts and comedy sketches, as well as a raffle.

Ultimately, the competition was won by year six pupil Georgina Newbury, for her rendition of Kerry Ellis’ Anthem, from the musical Chess.

In total, the night raised £482.60 for CLAPA, with the school’s parent/teacher association contributing an additional £70.

Last year’s winner, Eleanor Baron, said: “The Children’s Council chose this charity as the fundraising event would create lots of smiles from people enjoying the performances and would raise funds to help those children born with cleft palate to smile too.”

Year six student Katie Wenham added: “It was a fantastic event.

“We’re very proud of our finalists and it was a very successful night.”
