Onslow St Audrey’s School in Hatfield has seen a “huge increase” in higher grades at A-level and BTEC this year, with all the pupils going on to their chosen university places or career paths.
Top achievers include James Boyce, Cameron Oakaby-Wright, George Jones, Alicija Grzeskowiak, Chris Malpas, and Torrin Parratt, all of whom achieved all A*-C grades in their results.
James, who has secured a place at Salford University to study Film Studies with his A*, two Bs and a C, said: ”I am really pleased with my results – the hard work paid off and I’m going to study what I’ve always wanted to do.”
For George, it has been an inspiring journey to achieve his three distinctions.
He said: “Even though I didn’t have all the necessary grades to get into sixth form, because I was eager to learn, the head of sixth form supported my application.
“And here I am two years later with top grades in every subject.
“I am more than thrilled.”
George will go on to read business studies at the University of Hertfordshire.
Other pupils have been offered places at Leeds, Kent, Keele, and Bedford universities, among others.
Head of sixth form Katie Llewellyn said: “We are delighted with the results and the positive reactions of students today.
“We have seen a huge increase in the numbers of higher grades at A Level and BTEC, which is a true reflection of the students’ hard work and teachers’ dedication to supporting them.”
Headteacher Michael Harpham welcomed the results and said: “These are very pleasing results.
“This year group has worked extremely hard and all credit should be given to them for such a great achievement.
“It is wonderful that the work we have done with our students has helped them turn their dreams into reality.”
