A networking event for businesses and charities involved in the borough’s Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge 2017/18 took place in Hatfield.

The Dragons’ Lair event at the Hatfield Hub in Town Centre was an opportunity for those involved to talk through the challenges they have encountered.

The Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge is a community initiative that sees schools (Apprentices) from the borough linked up with local businesses (Dragons), with the aim of young teams raising money for charity.

Councillor Bernard Sarson, executive member for business and partnerships, said: “The event was about the mentors involved pooling their experiences so far, and I think everyone has gained something useful in terms of how they can best guide their Apprentices.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the Apprentices gain not just skills, such as how to work effectively in a team or budgeting, but how their confidence in themselves grows.”
