BARACK Obama has been snapped in Times Territory on his inauguration day.

Or was he?

Sadly no, for the gentleman in question is a lookalike by the name of Ryan Skeggs.

Ryan's life has changed dramatically since Mr Obama was elected as US President in November.

The 29-year-old from Old Knebworth has been inundated with offers of work.

Today (Tuesday) he appeared on GMTV, before hosting an inauguration party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Park Lane, London.

But despite his busy schedule, Ryan found time to chat to the WHT about his new-found fame.

The financial adviser, who grew up in Nup End, explained his countenance first started to attract comparisons with Obama last year.

"I left my job to go self-employed," he said, "and when Obama was going up against Hillary Clinton in the Democratic race, people started calling me Barack in the office."

And since Obama defeated John McCain in the presidential election, Ryan said things have gone crazy.

"The last two weeks in particular have been insane," he said.

"Every day I am getting three or four phone calls with offers of work.

"I take it seriously because I am getting paid, but at the same time it is a good craic."

Ryan, who sprinkles talcum powder in his hair to achieve Obama's distinguished look, added: "I get funny looks in the street all the time.

"People shout across the road 'hey Mr President'.

"Everybody wants a pound of flesh at the moment, but I love it - it is a great laugh."

As for Obama himself, Ryan, who now lives in Stevenage and plays cricket for Knebworth Park, said he has nothing but admiration.

"He's talking the talk and I am sure he will be able to walk the walk," he said.

"To coin a phrase it is change and I think he will do a great job."
