A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital following a crash in the Welham Green area.

A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital following a crash in the Welham Green area.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious collision between a push bike and a silver Fiesta today (Saturday, May 20).

The collision took place in Woodside Lane at the junction with Westfield Road at approximately 10.28am.

The man riding the push bike, who is in his early 40s and from Oxfordshire, was seriously injured and transported by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital.

He currently remains in hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s from Cambridgeshire, was not injured.

Investigating officer PC Neal Dyton of the Road Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and witnessed it take place, or anyone who saw either vehicle just prior to the collision, to get in contact as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the non-emergency number 101.
