Recovery from a crash involving multiple vehicles on the M25 is causing heavy traffic through Potters Bar.

The crash took place at around 4.30pm today on the M25 clockwise between Junction 24 for Potters Bar and Junction 25 for Enfield, with two lanes closing while emergency services attended the scene.

Following the crash there were approximately eight miles of queueing traffic back to Junction 22, while traffic officers from Highways England aided the emergency services.

The vehicles were recovered from the scene and clean-up was completed by around 6pm, allowing the two closed lanes to reopen.

Traffic should start to ease, but drivers are advised to allow extra journey time as long delays still remain.
