A Hatfield councillor has allocated £2,000 to causes in North Mymms as part of the county council’s locality budget scheme.

Cllr Paul Zukowskyj, of Hatfield South ward, has allocated a £1,000 grant to North Mymms Parish Council for refurbishment of the kitchen facilities in the Burns Pavillion, Welham Green.

He has also allocated a further £1,000 to North Mymms Memorial Hall to provide a public access defibrillator. Other councillors granted money in Royston, Watford and Hitchin.

Herts county council’s locality budget scheme grants councillors £10,000 a year to spend on worthwhile projects in their area. County councillors work with local communities to identify issues, and welcome applications from across the community.

The scheme was founded in 2009 and has since funded thousands of community projects.
