AGGRESSIVE and threatening cold callers have, once again, been knocking on doors in Welwyn Hatfield, leaving some residents in tears.
Neighbours reported agents from Scottish Power trying to trick their way into homes and not leaving when asked.
Many called the WHT in alarm.
One South Hatfield resident said she feared being pushed inside her front door, because of the man’s aggressive stance and confusing sales techniques.
The police sent officers to scour the area after receiving numerous calls from concerned homeowners in WGC on Tuesday and Wednesday, and in Hatfield on Thursday and Friday.
Most complaints said the men did not tell them they were selling gas and electricity, but demanded access to check meters.
When approached by the WHT, Jane Holmes, spokeswoman for Scottish Power, said: “We’ve not had any complaints in, so we can’t investigate it any further.
“We’re under a code of conduct and we take it very seriously if there’s any complaints against our agents.”

I think that Npower are just as intrusive in the entrance of Morrisons this week!! Who gives them the right to be in your face when you are just popping in for shopping. I stopped shopping there last year because of pushy people in the entrance and am now going elsewhere again
