Police are investigating after an attempt to steal a gas canister from a trailer in Hatfield.

The attempt was made on Monday, October 15 in Hatfield’s Wood Close.

Offenders approached a stationary catering trailer before cutting a cable attached to a gas canister.

They tried to lift the canister, but were disturbed by members of the public before running off.

A 17-year-old boy from Codicote, and a 17-year-old boy from Edgware were arrested on suspicion of theft and and have been released on bail until November 14.
