MGs at the Knebworth Classic Car Show

Hundreds of cherished automobiles will be making their way to the grounds of Knebworth House for the 20th Anniversary of the Knebworth Classic Motor Show on bank holiday Sunday and Monday.

About 2,000 classic cars, from Fords to Ferraris, will turn out for one of the major events in the heritage motoring calendar.

The enthusiasts’ fleet covers an array of model motors representing the golden era from the 1920s to the early 1980s and include rare long-forgotten makes as well as the everyday cars well remembered but now rarely seen.

One star of this year’s show will be the Armstrong Siddeley Whitley Landaulette. Only two of these were made in 1951 – one for the Governor of Aden and one for the Sultan of Zanzibar.

A rare pre-war red/black hood Ford Eiffel (believed to be unique) will also be on view.

The year 2010 also brings up the 40th anniversary of the Triumph TR Series 2-7.

The TR Register club will be displaying 150 Triumph cars to mark the occasion on bank holiday Monday.
