Children from 67 schools, including more than 40 from the Welwyn Hatfield and Potters Bar areas, coverged en masse to greet Her Majesty as she planted a tree to mark her 60 year reign.

And for three little girls it was extra special, as they presented bunches of flowers to the Queen to welcome her to Hatfield Park.

Elizabeth Feltham, of St Philip Howard School, in Woods Avenue, Hatfield; Martina Davis, of Essedon Primary School and Dana Connell, of St Mary’s Primary School, in Welham Green, were the lucky trio who met the monarch.

Excitement was near fever pitch as Her Majesty arrived as around 2,000 children screamed and waved flags to celebrate her arrival.
