Deputy mayor Pete Knell enjoys the fun rides at last year's Potters Bar Carnival

The annual extravaganza will take place in the town on Sunday, June 12.

This year, the committee has chosen to split its proceeds two ways – a grant for the building of a disabled toilet in the reception area at Mount Grace School, and money towards the annual cost of the town’s Christmas lights.

* Applications for stalls or the main carnival procession can be obtained by calling Sue or Peter Weaver on 01707 850147.

* Look out for this week’s Potters Bar Edition, out on Wednesday, when we launch our annual search to crown the Potters Bar Carnival Princess.
