POLICE are hoping a CCTV appeal will help them make a breakthrough in an investigation into an off-licence raid in Potters Bar.
The burglary happened at Wine World, in the High Street, before Christmas – but police have only turned to the public for assistance this week.
Between 1.09am and 1.40am on Friday, December 16 the raiders forced entry into the shop through a rear door, and stole cigarettes and alcohol.
Police are linking the burglary with an attempted raid at a convenience store in Hatfield at the turn of the year.
Between 7.50pm on Sunday, January 1 and 2.25am the next day, offenders tried to force a side door at Best One in Market Place.
They were disturbed, however, and ran off empty-handed.
Police have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in relation to both crimes.
Detective constable Laura Chillingworth, investigating, said: “I would like to speak with these men in connection with these incidents as they may have vital information as part of our investigation.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who thinks they know either of the men or have been offered cigarettes and alcohol for sale under suspicious circumstances.”
Call Dc Chillingworth with information on the police non-emergency number 101.
