Cars damaged after massive tree falls in Welwyn Garden City

This morning’s strong winds have caused a large tree to fall and significantly damage cars in Welwyn Garden City.

Police were called at 8.05am to reports that a large tree had fallen in Howicks Green.

A police spokeswoman said: “The tree is completely blocking the road and cars have been damaged.

“One car was struck on its windscreen and bonnet.”

The road has been closed and police remain on the scene.

Welwyn Hatfield Council and Herts Highways have been made aware of the issue.
