Emergency services were called to the A1(M) this afternoon after a car overturned near Welwyn Garden City.

Police, fire and ambulance services thronged to the southbound carriageway between Junction 6 for Welwyn and 4 for Hatfield’s Tesco following reports of the crash at 12.30pm.

The silver Toyota Yaris had rolled onto its side and was partly blocking one of the lanes, with a woman still trapped inside.

Paramedics helped her out of the car – which had to be recovered – before she was treated for minor injuries.

All lanes are now clear and any delays have subsided.
