Firefighters were called to a car well alight in Hatfield.

Hertfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service attended Crawford Road at 11.48pm on Saturday and found the vehicle on fire with no owner.

Crews from Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield extinguished the blaze using a hose reel and breathing apparatus in an hour and a half.

A police spokeswoman said the fire service initially suspected it was arson, but the owner has since been found and investigations are ongoing.
