Woman hurt in Welwyn Garden City crash

A car overturned in Welwyn Garden City town centre this morning after crashing into a bin.

A Herts Police spokesman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Police were called to Howardsgate at 6.16am today (June 28) following a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision.

“An orange Honda Jazz had been in collision with a bin near the Two Willows public house.

“The car overturned.

“Police closed the road.

“The female driver, the single occupant of the car, was reportedly injured and an ambulance also attended the incident.

“The vehicle was recovered by police and the road reopened at 7.53am.”

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called at 6.14am today to reports of a road traffic collision at Howardsgate, Welwyn Garden City.

“An ambulance crew was sent to the scene to help.

“At the scene we treated a woman, believed to be in her 40s, for a chest injury.

“The patient was taken to Lister Hospital for further care.”
