FIREFIGHTERS and police were called after a cable burnout caused a fire to break out in a field yesterday (Monday).
The blaze, between the railway and the road near Old Hatfield, off Great North Road took just under an hour to extinguish.
Police were on hand, at around 8.30am, to manage traffic as Hatfield firefighters used a hose reel to douse the flames.
The fire was out at just after 9am.
