Burst water mains in Welwyn Garden City meant some residents may have lost their water supply today.

Affinity Water sent out engineers to fix pipes on Stanborough Road and Great Dell this afternoon and both problems are now fixed.

The company warned nearby residents that discoloured or aerated water is not uncommon after these incidents and is not dangerous.

It advises people to run the tap for five to 10 minutes to clear the water.

Affinity apologised for any inconvenience caused.
